  • Oakland International Airport — OAK (~16.7 miles) is a convenient alternative served by many carriers including budget airlines. Driving time is typically about 30–35 minutes, depending on traffic. OAK is also accessible via BART to the Fremont station.
  • San Francisco International Airport — SFO (~22.5 miles) is the main international airport for the Bay Area and offers the widest range of domestic and international flights. Driving time is typically about 35–45 minutes, depending on traffic. SFO has a direct BART connection inside the airport.

There are no practical public transportation options directly to the masjid. Guests are encouraged to use rideshare or rental car services.

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is available from SFO and OAK airports to the Fremont BART Station (~3 miles from the masjid). From the Fremont BART station, guests can take a rideshare to the masjid.

Parking will be onsite at the masjid and offsite from the masjid campus. Further details will be shared closer to Ashara.
The Fremont and Bay Area enjoys mild Mediterranean weather in June. Guests should plan for cool, foggy mornings that give way to pleasant afternoons. Daytime temperatures typically range from the mid-60s to mid-70s°F (about 18–23°C). The Bay Area is significantly cooler than inland California and Southern California, so guests from warmer climates should bring a light jacket or layer for evenings.
Wi-Fi will be available at the masjid. You can also get a local prepaid SIM card at any of the three airports or at local stores (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon). Internet is available at most public places including hotels and shopping areas.
Bring a light jacket or layer for cool Bay Area evenings. Comfortable walking shoes are advised. Carry your ITS card and Raza letter. Bring medicines for existing conditions with a prescription from your local doctor. We also recommend bringing some cash — currency exchange is available at the airports but may carry higher fees.
